From portrait to landscape, it shows some of the representative works of the artist.

Francisco Sainz de la Maza had a solid training in the Catalan painting arts of the 20th century thanks to the years spent with Ignacio Mallol, and was highly recognized for his portraits and landscapes, many of which belong today to private and public collections. He also worked successfully in other genres such as compositions.

"Sainz de la Maza could accomplish his two main personal goals: teaching, which he undertook with great dedication, turning his school into the breeding ground of great artists; and painting, in which he worked intensely and extensively, presenting his first exhibition in 1923.

He was a painter of realities and truths, an excellent portrait performer, he loved landscapes and made them the center of many of his works; he created still life finely, in careful and balanced compositions.

Color was used in measure and with no stridencies, always respecting reality and at the same time providing it with a special touch that made his art work clearly identifiable without the need of a signature. His painting was calm, well developed, with precise sensibility and tones of outstanding technique. In the course of his life he witnessed the evolution of the world of painting, although he knew how not to be influenced and stick faithful to the principles that always governed his art. Hi was an outstanding artist in the Catalan painting of his time."
